Organic is great when you have small features that need a bit of support, particularly as organic supports can reach over lower layers. I use it a lot for minis and similar. Snug is better for parts that need large support areas, I use it mostly on functional parts I can't make any other way. Cura has had tree support for a few years now. Meanwhile, Thomas Rahm has been working on an improvement of tree support that pretty much re-writes the way it works. He made a pull request for Cura that implemented that. Those algorithms have been converted by Prusa to work with Prusa slicer and they renamed it "Organic" support.

I went in to print settings and support material settings. I can only find an option for first layer density. What setting/where is the setting to lower how dense the support density. I try and avoid supports to the point that sometimes just don't bother printing something if it needs them, but the couple things I've done with organic have come out a lot better than I expected.

That’s not the alpha, supports have always done that in PRUSA slicer. It’s just more noticeable now with organic supports as they tend to be located outside the model more. Every object is sliced independently, so you can place 2 objects overlapping and it will do the same.

Organic supports snapping mid print. I have been using the new organic supports from Prusa slicer 2.6 for some prints now and I am very happy with the results. I had some issues with the supports not sticking to the bed and popping off, which I could resolve by increasing the brim size and getting a correct bed leveling.
